Conference
Augmented Reality (AR) has been developing rapidly in the past years, and the acceptance of this technology is growing among the users of smartphones and tablets. Educational applications and resources that use AR technology are also growing both in number and quality. However, most educators lack sufficient digital skills and are unaware of the pedagogical approaches necessary to successfully use the available digital tools to advance their teaching practices and their professional development.
The European project iPEAR announces the iPEAR Conference on Inclusive Peer Pedagogy and Augmented Reality to bring together educators, instructional designers, learning technologists and pedagogy students/student teachers to share research, practical experience and/or pedagogical concepts with the aim to develop a European community of practice interested in the combination of participatory learning methodologies and AR.
The conference offers the opportunity to contribute to the iPEAR approach i.e., the combination of a collaborative peer learning pedagogy with AR technology. The community is invited to discuss
if and how teaching and collaborative learning with peers and augmented reality can offer opportunities for empowering and active learning
how AR provides students with opportunities to create their own content and visualize the products of their collaborations
how by combining collaborative approaches and visuals, educators and their students can make use of the iPEAR approach and initiate further investigation
if the iPEAR approach offers opportunities for an inclusive collaborative learning experience.
Contributions share research, practical experience and pedagogical concepts and are presented in ordinary presentations, workshops, poster presentations, and short pitches.
The Conference will be streamed for those who cannot take part in person. Participation is free and all participants will be granted a Certificate of Attendance and the opportunity to publish a short or a full paper in the conference proceedings. Participants from outside Greece can be reimbursed travel expenses up to 200 EUR.
